Celtic Maritime Limited was formed in October 2024 by Martyn, an ex-MCA Principal Consultant Surveyor and ‘Paris MOU’ Port State Control Officer. Throughout his career Martyn has experienced and surveyed all ship types and is a lead auditor for all major maritime conventions as well as a qualified and certified 'Flag' surveyor.
Initially starting with the MCA (UK Flag) in 2017, he continued to train and develop his skills before eventually being promoted to Principal Marine Surveyor in October 2023. Based in Cardiff, Martyn was part of the senior management team which was responsible for the majority of Wales & Severn area.
As a Principal Consultant Martyn helped scope and write UK Policy for the Maritime and Coastguard agency in a number of areas which specialised in small craft; Workboats, Sport and Pleasure, UK Domestic Passenger Vessels, High Speed Craft / High Speed - Offshore Supply Craft and Fishing vessels.
This means we are able to offer extensive marine survey experience, we offer professional marine consultancy in all areas of maritime regulation.
Equally, we have extensive project experience; from minor modifications to vessel new build projects.
We also regularly partner with other Professional consultants on projects; if we are unsure of a solution we will certainly know someone who can help.
Based in Pembrokeshire, Wales we are very lucky to work is such a beautiful location however our reach is throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.
We regularly travel to vessels wherever they may be (we understand that vessels usually don't stop).
